We are primarily concentrating on the residential homeowner equipment. For instance, the walk behind push mowers, riding mowers and Zero Turns. Of course, we also work on the engines of power washers, the walk-behind string trimmers and walk-behind edgers. We can also work on the American-made generators. No matter what the job is, if it’s a small engine we will get it done in three days or less!
Some of the brands we work on include Troy-Bilt, Bolens, Yard-Man, Cub Cadet, Poulan, Poulan Pro, Husqvarna, Craftsman, Bob-cat,Big dog, Hustler. We also work on most of the Briggs & Stratton brand engines, Kohler command and Courage Engines. This lengthy list also includes Kawasaki, Honda and Tecumseh Engines as well. There isn’t any brand that is out of our ability to fix, repair, or service.
Throughout the past 25 years I’ve noticed that the EPA has continued to change and mandate requirements for the small engine market. Some of the changes that they have made include taking away your ability to drain out the gas out of the bowl on your carburetor. Because you can’t get the last of the gas out of the carburetor, and because they keep taking the preservatives out of the fuel, the gas has a tendency to degenerate and gum up your carburetor. Other changes to the small engine standards include a push to make engines more efficient, so they would in turn use less fuel. So the manufacturers have had to reduce the jet sizes In a carburetors. This seems like a small thing at first, but that means that it takes less to plug up the carburetor and keep it from running. 10 years ago it was unheard of to have a lawnmower only a year old needing carburetor work. The smaller that they make the jet sizes, the more problems you are going to run into with your equipment. One change that will help, is to make sure your gas is clean when you pour it into your lawn mower. We recommend blowing off your gas can, or wiping it off before you pour fuel into your mower. Anything you can do to keep dirt and trash out of your fuel tank on your mower will help! It will also help to use 100% gas because it does not have any ethanol in it.
It is also prudent to never use last year’s gas in your mower. We find it will not be to the standard of quality your lawn mower deserves. We also recommend for walk behind mowers that you buy a maximum of 1 or 2 gallons of gasoline, that way you will be sure to use up your fuel every year. We recommend that you use a fuel stabilizer. It’s best to use in brand new fuel as it will not help to stabilize old gasoline do to the fact it has already broken down. We recommend you buy fresh fuel, sometime around September, then add stabilizer to that fuel and begin to use that stabilized fuel. That way your equipment will have stabilized fuel Through the entire fuel system, to go through the winter. We also offer a fuel stabilizer that will stabilize for up to two years. Most fuel stabilizers are only good for one year. And always remember the fuel that is in the bottom of your gas can probably has water from condensation. So never pour the last of your gas that’s in your fuel can into your mower, that’s where the water will be.
